Medical Director, Intestinal Rehabilitation and Transplantation, SickKids and University Health Network
Dr. Avitzur is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto and the Medical Director of Intestinal Rehabilitation and Transplantation at The Hospital for Sick Children and University Health Network. He is a graduate of the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel-Aviv University. Dr. Avitzur specializes in pediatric liver and intestinal transplantation and in intestinal failure and rehabilitation. He conducts research which focuses on the short- and long-term outcome of patients with these diseases to improve their outcome and quality of life. Dr. Avitzur is involved with Trillium Gift of Life policy making and in national and international committees in the field of transplantation and intestinal rehabilitation. He joined the RMHC Toronto Board in 2015.
