Build Care Bags

***Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are fortunate to have our Care Bag needs met for the rest of 2017. We will begin accepting donations again in the new year.

Families often arrive at Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Toronto with very few personal items or everyday essentials. Plus, food is often the last thing on their minds as they rush out the door in the morning for the hospital.

Building Care Bags for families is a great way to bring comfort to their lives. It also helps relieve some of the financial burden they face.

There are a few ways to build a bag that shows you care.

We recommend supplying at least 150 packed bags - to a maximum of 300 - to ensure there is enough for each family at the House and extras for families in our in-hospital Family Rooms.

Breakfast Bags: Pack a bag that starts a family’s day off right. Families will pick them up in the morning on their way out to the hospital. Breakfast bags can include any of the following non-perishable food items:
  • Cereal bars
  • Granola bars
  • Instant oatmeal
  • Juice boxes
Snack Bags: Put together a bag of mid-morning or mid-afternoon snacks for families to grab and go. Smaller than breakfast bags, snack bags can include non-perishable food items such as:
  • Snack bars
  • Cookies
  • Chips
  • Juice boxes
