George Cohon, Founder of McDonald’s Canada/RMHC Canada and McDonald’s Russia is a recipient of the Companions of the Order of Canada.

The Order of Canada is one of our country’s highest honours. Presented by the governor general, the Order honours people whose service shapes our society, whose innovations ignite our imaginations, and whose compassion unites our communities.

“George is an inspiring leader, supporter, and friend to RMHC Toronto,” says Sally Ginter, CEO of RMHC Toronto. “It’s such a pleasure to see George being recognized for his life’s work of helping families with seriously ill children across Canada and around the world.”

George was first inducted as a Member of the Order of Canada in 1988. With this promotion, George is one of just five Companions of the Order.

RMHC Toronto celebrates George as a tireless champion for our mission and we are delighted to congratulate him on this well deserved recognition.
