Interim CEO Christina Scicluna shares a message of thanks for the difference your support makes

Every day, I give thanks for the whole-hearted generosity and compassion of our community. And this Thanksgiving, I wanted to share that gratitude—on behalf of our whole team here, and on behalf of the families whose lives you touch each and every day.

Thanks to your continued support, we can be there for families when they need us most. Whether it’s a welcoming, supportive space to stay together; a warm, nourishing meal at the end of a long day; or a bright, welcoming classroom where kids can continue to learn, explore, and make friends, no matter what circumstances their families are going through.

I’ve had the privilege of seeing your compassion in action many times. Your impact is felt in big ways—like the 3,383 families you supported last year, or the 98 students who learned within the walls at RMHC Toronto School, more than ever before in our history. But it’s the little moments that will always stay with me…

The tears of relief and gratitude when a mother knows she isn’t alone in her toughest moments. The family curled up together in our library, reading a bedtime story. The joy and wonder in students’ eyes, when we brought our Summer Camp to the ROM to see the dinosaurs.

With Thanksgiving behind us and the holidays on their way, these moments of comfort and connection are all the more precious to the families we serve. Thank you for being there, so they can celebrate these special moments together. Thank you for being there for families every day of the year.
