For over 40 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Toronto has served as a place to call home for families with seriously ill children undergoing treatment in hospital.
Today, RMHC Toronto needs to grow.
We had a waiting list a couple of years after opening our doors and, with SickKids Hospital in the process of a multi-year expansion initiative, RMHC Toronto also needs to expand to keep pace, since about 93% of our families have children being treated at SickKids.
As a result of our need to grow, we are submitting a combined official plan and zoning by-law amendment application, along with a site plan application, to the City of Toronto to allow us to expand to 200 rooms from the current 81 at the 240 McCaul Street site to serve more families in the future. In the meantime, we continue to explore all development options to ensure RMHC Toronto is well positioned to meet the needs of more families.
We are committed to keeping families together when they need it most, and we will share any related news updates periodically on this site.
