RMHC Toronto proud to share 2024 slate of Board Directors & thanking outgoing members for heartfelt contributions

On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, RMHC Toronto hosted their Annual General Meeting to close off the year and show appreciation for the Board of Directors that have served our Mission tirelessly, with special thanks to those with terms coming to an end.

RMHC Toronto is pleased to announce the appointment of Aric Bhargava as the new Board Chair of our Board of Directors. A respected risk and regulatory compliance executive and Managing Partner at Birli & Associates, he has more than 20 years of professional experience in large complex organizations from institutional asset management, investment banking, and financial services. He previously served as our Vice-Chair and has been a valued member of the RMHC Toronto Board since 2014. Aric has most recently been a member of the Finance and Audit Committee, and the Governance and Nominating Committee and previously a member of the Family Room sub-Committee, Development Committee, Mission Committee and led the Strategy Development sub-Committee.

Aric’s personal connection to RMHC Toronto dates to before he joined the Board, when his family used the services of RMHC Toronto.

“As a father, RMHC Toronto is important to me. This is a charity I believe in, and I can attest to how well it works for families during their time of need. In our experience, RMHC Toronto was an incredible source of support when we needed it the most. Working alongside the other Board Members, I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back and be involved within the community in such a personal and meaningful way. RMHC Toronto transitioned my family from desperation to inspiration and now, it is my honour and privilege to serve in this Mission as Chair.”

We also congratulate Angela Clayton for accepting the role of Vice-Chair and welcome our newest Board Members: Tony Cimino and Rashid Wasti.

Aric replaces Denise Carpenter, our outgoing Board Chair, who we want to thank for her incredible leadership since 2022. Through her efforts, we have built a strong foundation and momentum for the future of RMHC Toronto.

We extend our gratitude to outgoing Board member and past Chair, Joseph Cooper, who has a longstanding history with RMHC Toronto and has contributed significantly to our organization over the past 10 years. We appreciate Joe for his continued work with the House Expansion Committee.

To each and every Board Director – thank you for your time and continued support to propel our Mission and Vision. We look forward to working together in support of families when they need it most.
