McDonald’s restaurants in Brampton and Mississauga help with hearts.

The Magno family is no stranger to what sick children endure.

Frank Magno is a McDonald’s Canada Owner/Operator. His daughter Sam, at the age of 11, underwent a heart valve transplant and was at SickKids for nine long months.

Sam is leading a campaign to create some positive energy at their McDonald’s restaurants in Brampton and Mississauga. Their Helping Hearts fundraiser has a goal of raising $50,000 for RMHC Toronto this year.

“Helping RMHC is something we take pride in. I know firsthand what these brave children go through and to have their families close to them means more than anything.”

Restaurant employees are asking guests for donations and then writing their names on hearts to post in the restaurant windows for all to see. Owner/Operator Frank says: “I feel that with hope coming soon and being able to put COVID-19 behind us this will bring a positive outlook on 2021 and I know hearts give that happy feeling.”

Sam says their Kennedy location “has been amazing,” and that the store is full of hearts. What an uplifting sight for customers at this location!

“My family and I are extremely grateful that Sam has a healthy life,” says Frank. “Today, she is giving back in ways that she knows how to do best.”

Thank you to Frank, Sam, and their crew for this generous commitment. And thank you to all the McDonald’s customers in Brampton and Mississauga who are showing their love to RMHC Toronto families.
