Executive Message from Jayson Horner, Chair of the Board, and Sally Ginter, Chief Executive Officer.
Thank you for everything you do to support families with a seriously ill child.
Last year, 5,350 families stayed in our 81-room House or found respite in one of our seven in-hospital Family Rooms.
It is thanks to our incredible 2019 donors and volunteers that thousands of families found the support they desperately needed. Thank you for keeping families together. Thank you for providing them with a place to call home.
This year, we wanted to use our Annual Review in a different way – to connect with you. It is our pleasure to celebrate and recognize everything that our generous supporters made possible in 2019. We are so grateful to you.
If you have any feedback on ways we can continue to connect with you, we’d love to hear it. We need supporters like you now more than ever.
As we turned the corner into 2020, all our lives changed dramatically. RMHC Toronto was recognized by the provincial government as an essential service, so the House has remained open for families. Our staff have worked tirelessly to modify programs to meet the needs of our RMHC Toronto families. Since the pandemic hit Canada, we have had to make a lot of changes to continue delivering our mission in safe and responsible manner.
We celebrate the efforts and commitment of our family-facing staff and the staff who have continued their roles while working from home. We also know that many of you have been doing your part by staying home. Through this Annual Review, we are so grateful to be able to reach out and connect with you.
Even before the pandemic, families were already facing so much stress and uncertainty because of their child’s illness. They need the comfort and sanctuary that the House provides now more than ever.
We’re so grateful to everyone who has come together to keep families safe, healthy and together.
We hope you will enjoy reading about the incredible difference you have made.
